Applications

Self-Lubricating Bearings and Bushings:

One of the most common applications of Ni-C is in the manufacture of self-lubricating bearings, bushings, and sliding parts. These components operate under high load and high-speed conditions, where the graphite acts as a lubricant, reducing friction and wear, thereby increasing the lifespan of the parts.

Electrical Contacts and Conductive Components:

The electrical conductivity of nickel-graphite alloy powder makes them ideal for use in electrical contacts, commutators, and brushes for motors and generators. The alloy is also used in electrical connectors, resistors, and other components where stable electrical conductivity is required.

Thermal Management:

Due to its thermal conductivity, Ni-C is used in applications that require efficient heat dissipation, such as in heat exchangers, radiators, heat sinks, and electronic components. The combination of high conductivity and thermal stability makes it ideal for components exposed to extreme temperature conditions.

Wear-Resistant Coatings:

Thermal spraying processes, such as plasma spraying and flame spraying, often use nickel-graphite alloy powder to produce wear-resistant coatings on parts exposed to abrasion and corrosion. These coatings are used on components such as cylinder heads, piston rings, and engine components to extend their service life and improve performance in harsh environments.

Marine and Offshore Applications:

In the marine and offshore industries, NI-C are used for parts that need to withstand the corrosive effects of saltwater while also reducing friction and wear. Applications include marine engine parts, pumps, valves, and shaft components.

Automotive Applications:

Nickel-graphite alloy powder is used in the automotive industry for brake systems, engine components, and clutch parts. The material’s self-lubricating properties reduce wear and enhance performance in parts that undergo high friction during operation.
