Zinc Sulphide Powder
Zinc sulfide (or zinc sulfide) is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula of ZnS. This is the main form of zinc found in nature, where it is mainly found as the mineral of sphalerite. Although this mineral is usually black due to the various impurities, a material is pure white and is widely used as a pigment. In its dense synthetically, zinc sulfide can be transparent and is used as a window for the visible and infrared optical lens.
The zinc sulfide, with the addition of a few ppm of suitable activator, has strong phosphorescence (described by Nikola Tesla in 1893) and is currently used in many applications, from CRT to X-ray screens to illuminate dark products. When silver is used as an activator, the resulting color is bright blue, with a maximum of 450 nanometers. The use of manganese produces a red-orange color at about 590 nanometers. Copper gives long-term shine and has the familiar green glow in the darkness. Zinc sulfide doped with copper (Cu “ZnS plus”) is also used in electroluminescent panels. It also exhibits phosphorescence due to impurities in illumination with blue or ultraviolet light.
