Manganese Nanopowder / Nanoparticles Applications
- Sensors. The unique chemical reactivity of manganese makes it a valuable ingredient in the production of various biosensors. It’s also useful in producing voltage measurement devices as a voltage-sensitive material.
- Coatings. Like many nanoparticles, manganese is of particular value in producing specialized coatings with particular properties that were previously impossible to achieve.
- Catalyst and additive. As is the case with many oxide nanomaterials, manganese has a variety of applications as a catalyst and as an additive in compound materials. Uses include bleaching, plastic manufacturing, production of electronic nanostructures, and the absorption of radionucleotides.
- Data storage. As with many nanoparticles, manganese has been heavily researched as a potential material for producing more effective data storage mediums. In particular, it has been investigated for its potential in magnetic data storage.
- Mn NPs in electronic properties and catalytic activities, but the antibacterial properties of Mn NPs are seldom investigated. In one study, the antibacterial activities of curcumin and curcumin stabilized Mn NPs against Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis (gram-positive) and Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus bacillus (gram-negative) were appraised by disc diffusion method, and the zone of inhibition was compared to Chloramphenicol. It was found out that the antibacterial activities of curcumin-stabilized Mn NPs were superior to the curcumin for all bacteria. Trichophyton similar, Curvularia lunata, Aspergillus niger, and Candida albicans, and were compared with Fluconazole as a standard drug. it was found out that the antifungal activities of curcumin stabilized Mn NPs were superior to the curcumin and standard drug.
