Hastelloy C276 Alloy Spherical Powder
Applications
Chemical Processing
Chemical Reactors: Hastelloy® C-276 is commonly used in chemical reactors, where it resists corrosion from highly aggressive chemicals like sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and phosphoric acid. It is ideal for both stirring blades and vessels in chemical production, ensuring long-term performance in highly acidic and corrosive conditions.
Heat Exchangers: The alloy is widely used in heat exchangers and cooling systems within the chemical industry due to its corrosion resistance and ability to withstand thermal cycling, high pressures, and corrosive fluids.
Towers and Scrubbers: In distillation columns, absorbers, and scrubbers, Hastelloy® C-276 is used to combat corrosive attack from acid gases, particularly in flue gas desulfurization systems where sulfur compounds are prevalent.
Aerospace and Gas Turbines
Gas Turbines: The alloy is used for components such as blades, discs, baskets, and nozzles in gas turbines, where high temperatures and oxidative environments are prevalent. Hastelloy C-276’s high-temperature strength and resistance to thermal fatigue make it suitable for turbines in aerospace and power generation applications.
Aerospace Components: Hastelloy C-276 is also used in aerospace applications, including exhaust systems and fuel systems, where components are subjected to both high temperatures and corrosive gases.
Power Generation
Nuclear Reactors: Hastelloy® C-276 is used in nuclear reactors for reactor cores, fuel cladding, and other components exposed to radiation, high pressure, and corrosive environments. Its corrosion resistance and high-temperature stability make it suitable for use in both fission and fusion reactors.
Gas and Steam Turbines: In power plants, gas turbines, and steam turbines, Hastelloy C-276 is employed for high-temperature components such as combustion chambers, turbine blades, and exhaust systems, where high thermal and chemical stresses are common.
Oil and Gas Industry
Offshore Equipment: The alloy’s corrosion resistance in saltwater and sulfur-rich environments makes it ideal for offshore drilling equipment and subsea pipelines.
